I am so far behind in my blogging that it isn’t even funny. I am glad that my wife is picking up my slack. A lot is going as we rapidly approach our launch on the 20th. Not to be forgotten is our last preview this coming weekend. I am pretty pumped about the message and I think it will be a great segway into our “Launch” Series where we will share the mission of InDependence while journeying with Paul to Ephesus. It would be awesome if you took some time to read Ephesians before the 20th. It is only 6 short chapters.
God has given us some miracle marketing opportunities that I alluded to earlier but is currently in process. Hence the reason I haven’t blogged. We have a 20k piece mailer hitting the streets of Weston around the 16th, which was paid for by an outside donation. Our City Weston, which we have an editorial and a ½ page ad in, comes out about the same time. Both parts will be adjacent to each other so we got almost a full page for the price of a half. The Miami Herald is releasing a story in the Sunday (13th) paper about our launch and our church in general. I spent an hour interviewing with them last week and I am excited to read their perception of InDependence. My friends at Life-Pointe Church raised a Christmas offering for us which is going to more than pay for our radio spots on Y100 which will run all day on the 18th and 19th. So Chris, (who used to listen to Y100) if we reach one individual that is as excited about meeting Jesus as you are, it will be worth every penny. Lastly I sent out an InVite to all of the City of Weston Officials along with a few friends and acquaintances. We have a lot of hooks in the water but it still takes God to bring the fish.
We are busting hump to get everything ready and over New Years my family and I built a cool new children’s set. Here are some pictures:

(I would hate to be “Bible Thumped” by that)
I will post some more once it is complete. It was my wife’s brain child and as with a lot of her ideas I am just the grunt. She is preparing some amazing lessons that I believe are going to leave a life long impression on our children. One involves old tuna fish…and I am going to leave it at that. Please pray that her excitement rubs off on some people and they get as ridiculous about reaching our children as she is.
Hi Nathan,
Radio is a powerful medium. If it weren’t for 91.9-CALL-FM here in South Miami-Dade I probably would not have discovered Life Pointe Church here in Homestead, and I likely would not be here on your blog today … or Pastor Travis’s blog … or my own blog. God guided me over to CALL-FM (from Y-100) during the Summer Of 2006, and it was my on-ramp per se onto this fantastic journey. 5 months later Life Pointe Church was hosting a rock concert a year ago next weekend, and it was being pushed hard by CALL-FM. I attended that rock concert, and then the very next morning I went to church for the first time in over 30 years. Next Sunday marks my one-year-anniversary as a Life Pointe Church member. It’s been the happiest most glorious year of my entire Life, and this is just the start of it all !
I enjoyed talking to you about a month ago when you visited us at Life Pointe, and one of these Sunday mornings I would love to get up to Weston to check out your new church. I wish you great success in your upcoming launch. It’s the start of something MASSIVE for Weston. Take that city by storm !
One question though. What’s the significance of ‘10:29′ (AM) versus 10:30 ?
Chris,
You are welcome to come hang out with us anytime and we would love to have you.
10:29…Which would you be more apt to forget 10:30 or 10:29? Just becaus eit is different we are hoping people will remember. I stole the idea from genesischurch.tv in Tallahassee. Brian is running two services…9:29 and 11:01. I can’t wait till we have to do the same!
