A portion of Ephesians 6 occupies a very special part of my heart and soul. In one of my earliest (and obviously most memorable) Life Group studies last April in which I was the leader for the first time ever we were discussing James 1:12-18 (’How To Win Over Temptation’). We read Ephesians 6:10-18 out loud and then discussed how it is relevant in avoiding the fall into temptation. It’s all about the armor of God, and how to wear it effectively in order to successfully fight off the devil’s evil intentions. The armor consists of the belt of truth, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
My Bible cover has a small inscription at the bottom of it that reads ‘Eph. 6:17′, and there’s a sword right next to it. Everything just fell right into place on that night with my Life Group. I’ve had my armor on ever since then.
I really love those pictures. It kind of shows a picture of Jesus walking with us.
