Fond Farewell to Stuart

Today I was going to blog about the first funeral service at InDependence, but I just feel like I want to go a different direction. After writing a couple of weeks worth of newsletters, putting together video presentations for this week, programs, etc. I was just over promoting One Prayer.

Then I hoped on the web site and began to read the 386 comments posted today regarding the Fasting Focus: Salvations.  In these posts people listed name after name of individuals they were fasting and praying for today. Can I just say that I am glad that there is a God who has always been listening to these prayers? I would have never had an opportunity to here the prayers of these 386 people if it weren’t for One Prayer.

Can I save them or heal them, no but my heart grieves at this moment with them as I read the names: Crystal, Jerry, Eli, Heather, Kayla, Terry, Anita, Courtney, Zach… Than I think of my list and the list of the other 750,000+ people taking part in this and I am just caught in wonder of Great is our God.

How great?…  How can this many unmet needs be a sign of greatness? To me I see a remnant of people still willing to call on the Lord. I also see a God that actually knows each one of the names listed. He knows what they look like, where they live, what their problems are, and even how many hairs they have on their head.

How? I don’t know but by faith in His word I know that He does. I am begging the people who make up InDependence Church to get involved. I challenge you to take a few minutes from your very busy lives and invest in praying and fasting with and for the other participants in One Prayer… because they are praying for you. Don’t believe me, here is what Lu Ann said just 3 hrs ago:

I am bound to my home this week. It just happens my husband needs work on his truck, He is using my car, How Awesome our God is. He also has a great sense of humor. I will devote my time at home to “One Prayer.” Please know I am praying for you, who have asked for prayer, in the name of our Lord Jesus.
