In just 15 days InDependence will be 1 year old. In reading this post I was inspired to layout some of the highlights from this past year. These are in no particular order, accept for number 1.
- We have led people to Christ.
- We have survived 1 year as a church plant.
- We have hired an amazing Worship Leader and God threw in an awesome band as a bonus.
- We have some incredibly dedicated people and I believe it is becoming contagious.
- We had somebody threaten to call the cops on us while we were giving away FREE food.
- I had the cops called on me for being too nice.
- Every week there are people serving at our church that I honestly believe wouldn’t even be in church if it wasn’t for InDependence.
- We are seeing the benefits of 40 days of corporate prayer and fasting.
- We have created an environment that has birthed some wonderful relationships.
- Finally a great thing that happened in 2008 is that it ended. The reason I am so excited about this is because I (and quite a few other people) believe that 2009 is going to be an amazing year for InDependence. I am already beginning to see new people, new ministries and even some new ministers. I can’t wait to see how God gets some glory out of us reaching out to Weston and the surrounding areas.
Congratulations on your one year aniversary. I rmember like if it was yesterday that you came to LPC to speak and told us about the church plant.
May the LORD in all HIS godness keep blessing you.
12 WEEKS LATER …
I finally heard your ‘State Of The Church Address’ for 2008. The download had been sitting on my Windows Desktop ever since, and it got buried on there. I clicked on it tonight, and I listened intently. Good Stuff. POWERFUL Stuff !
I am so cheering you guys on up there in the Weston area. When you went on about a 2ND and a 3RD service and a 2ND and a 3RD and a 4TH campus I was cheering you on out loud right here in my living room. When you spoke of 16 InDependence Church campuses meeting together corporately at the BankAtlantic Center (or whatever it may be called on Easter Sunday in 2020) I got so totally excited for you and your crew.
Keep expanding God’s Kingdom up there in Western Broward County. Keep doing His work and help to bring the lost and the soulless onto this fantastic journey.
